I am planning on starting a list on the sidebar of all the usable/medicinal/edible herbs I find at Dandelion Homestead, but until then, here are some of the things I found this weekend:
Indian Cucumber
Trillium
Another Trillium
Bloodroot
Wild Yam
Solomons Plume
I don’t know what this is… Anyone know? It was obviously planted. It is a shrub, ~5-8 feet high, with pretty pink flowers. I can’t figure it out in my plant books. The next picture is another one of this bush.
OK, I’m off to relax in be and catch up on my Smallville! Hey, did anyone see the newest Alias?? I knew Vaughn was still alive!!! Can’t fool me!!
it almost looks like a type of honeysuckle.
I think the flower is a little different than the bush honeysuckle… Maybe Chokeberry??
Maria,
This definitely looks like a pink Weigelia. It is a beautiful shrub. My mother and grandmother both have on in their yard.
The Trillium are beautiful! You’ll have to show me where you found them.
I shot pics of the Blood Root last week while it was in bloom. The plant is all over the hillside! Let me know if you’d like for me to email you the photos.
Pink Weigela… I think that is it! The pictures I found look just like it. Cool. Maybe we will get some hummingbirds!
The pictures are beautiful and helpful! I have been slowly learning useful wild plants in-between everything else going on in my life!
These photos are beautiful.
I wanted to drop in and say thank you so much for your kind words over my loss, It is much appreciated! Blessings of Light, Lj
