Toby was hard at work while I was away this past week. Here’s the engineering feat he has been constructing:
here you can see the beginning of the joists that will hold up the second floor.
this is the view from the inside! The flooring will go on top of these joists, so the will be an exposed part of our first floor ceiling. Does that make sense?
this is looking down on the girders from the second floor, right above the main post.
Wow! It is looking great Maria!!! I am so impressed! Toby was really busy while you were gone! Thanks for all of the pictures; it is great to be able to see the work in progress. Hope you enjoyed your class up North! 🙂 Welcome Home!
is he working on this full time or does he have another job too? it is looking great!
He works 2-3 days a week on it. And works 2-3 days for a friend who owns Blue Collar Software. (http://www.bluecollarsoftware.com/) I don’t know what we are going to do with all our time when the house is built and my business has settled into a routine. I’m sure we will fill it up!
WOW is right. truly amazing.
I checked out the site you mentioned for the cord wood homes. I really like those! I am trying to talk my husband into some for outdoor buildings. I want a different house, but LOVE the idea of having smaller structures made like those for the animals, garden shed, kids “summer house”, etc.
Your home process is amazing. Again, thank you for sharing. I enjoy seeing the progress you guys are making.
