Hey there again!

Sorry for the brief interruption in the site! We got hit by a porn hacker who was trying to download viruses onto peoples computers. But, we have cleansed ourselves of their porny ways and are back up and running!

SOOOOO! Here’s what’s happened in the one day that we were down…. WE passed electrical, mechanical, and plumbing final inspections!!!!!!! We have a few more things to do and then it’s on to the final final inspection before we can move in!!! Can you see me doing another dance????

So, here are some pictures from the last week:
Putting the plywood, and then the backerboard down for the marble countertops (with the help of our amazing carpenter cat)

We had to buy a special tool for cutting the granite and marble. We are doing a mosaic of the pieces that we have, but we still needed to make some cuts.

Here’s what the area around the sink looks like so far. We haven’t grouted it yet…

Installing the fan…

…from a precarious position

Fixtures going up!

  1. Congratulations on passing your final inspections! I am pretty sure that your fabulous carpenter cat is the reason it went so smoothly. Good help is hard to find you know.

  2. Your home makes my heart sing every time I see pictures, it is beautiful beyond words, you can see that it was built with love and soul.

  3. The fixtures are so eye catching! And I am so in love with the bathroom vanity and sink.. Amazing when you think back to when you had only just laid the foundation. You guys have come a long ways. Congratulations on a succesful inspection!

  4. Everything looks terrific. I really love the mosaic countertop. And I’m glad that you’ve passed those major inspections — great news! Now I’m just waiting for the photos of Moving Day! (And to see how you transform your older living space into your home office space as planned! Is that still the plan?)

I was thinking of you yesterday when we saw a lot of people hooping at the Shakori Hills festival in Chatham County!

  5. Maybe we can all help you plant the roof and everyone bring a plant from your list. This would make for the ultimate housewarming party. Everything looks great and so happy for you and Toby.

  6. Yep, the plan is to turn the upstairs of the cabin into Toby’s office and the downstairs into my clinic space. Hopefully it won’t take too much work to fancy it up, ’cause once the big house is done, I’d like a break! 🙂
