OK all you line-drying gods and goddesses out there! This may be the answer to our crunchy clothes syndrome. I haven’t tried it yet, but I will let you know the results when I do. It sounds simple and like it works.

I’ve never used baking soda too but I add a cup or so of white vinegar to the rinse cycle and have never had troubles with crunchy clothes since.
I got one of those Downy balls — didn’t buy any Downy, just the plastic ball. Fill it to the line with white vinegar and it will come out automatically in the rinse cycle. Seems to help quite a bit!
I was going to mention my love of vinegar and baking soda. I use them when the dipes get stinky and I guess there IS less crunch when I use those that mixture. I still want to heartily endorse less detergent as a partial solution. I have heard that Calgon works miracles, too. I don’t think it’s too nasty, but not as nice as just plain vinegar and b.s.
Maria: congrats on the results of the fast AND the beautiful results in the garden! Have a great weekend.
